The department of Community Physiotherapy strives to promote the health and wellbeing of the common public through health promotion, health awareness education, and physiotherapeutic strategies to prevent diseases / disorders in the community. The department offers postgraduate degree in Master of Community Physiotherapy affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The core focus of the department is on the domains of women’s health, geriatrics and industrial health. The department is equipped with sophisticated physiotherapy equipments for comprehensive assessment and scientific & holistic intervention.
Departmental Objectives
1. To provide community-oriented physiotherapy education that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values to deliver preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative services in diverse community settings. 2. To enhance student competencies in public health and primary care, with focused training in women’s health,geriatric care,industrial health,and ergonomics through fieldwork,camps,and PHC visits. 3. To promote health awareness and preventive rehabilitation through regular organization of community outreach programs,rural health camps, school screenings,and workplace health initiatives. 4. To promote research and evidence-based practice in community physiotherapy with a focus on addressing the health needs of vulnerable and underserved populations. 5. To collaborate with local health authorities, public health institutions, and NGOs for learning the successful community health initiatives and community-based rehabilitation (CBR) models and health promotion strategies that improve functional outcomes and quality of life.
